Statistics, Informatics, and Data Management Core

Purpose: Our Statistics, Informatics, and Data Management Core (known as the Data & Stats Team) provides most of the programming and data management for CCDOR projects.

Services provided: The Data & Stats Team has extensive experience extracting data for research and operational projects, enabling investigators to conduct a range of studies—from pilot studies to large, multi-site studies—and to measure outcomes difficult to identify in the medical record. 

Expertise: The Data & Stats Team draws on the expertise of its 16 members, which includes research methodology and statistics, survey methodology expertise, technical writing and in-depth knowledge and experience with VA policy and procedures regarding data access and use. Technical skills include working with SAS Enterprise Miner (SAS-EM) software, natural language processing (NLP), Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic and Web based applications (MVC, ASP, HTML and JavaScript).
